Kelvin Lam joined the Department of Sociology at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2026. Before joining HKBU, he worked in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include immigration and migration, refugee studies, and social inclusion. His current research projects examine the lived experiences and trajectories of irregular migrants and asylum seekers in Hong Kong. His work has been published in Global Networks, the Journal of Refugee Studies, the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Population, Space and Place, and the Journal of International Migration and Integration.
